A Warm Welcome

Our whole team is dedicated to providing the highest quality and comprehensive veterinary care for you, your farm and your animals needs.

Director / Veterinary Surgeon

During my studies in Holland, I made several trips to Shropshire as a lambing assistant. This is such a nice part of the world that we decided to settle here.
I was born in Holland but was raised all over the world. I returned to Holland for secondary education and university.
After graduating (2004!) I married Emmy, my aussie wife and we have Sophie our teenage daughter. We built our own home on top of a hill admiring the Shropshire countryside every day!
Being a grandson of a dairy farmer gave me the love and passion for agriculture and livestock. Still wishing to be a farmer, I now farm around 40 acres of hilly ground where we run a Zwartbles sheep flock and also have a few Longhorns.
As a dedicated farm vet, I am on the road a lot, so I get plenty of opportunity to see what our farmers are up to! Together we are working towards a sustainable, British, and profitable future for agriculture.
I really thrive on hard work resulting in happy clients, happy staff, and a happy family!
Being part of and contributing to the local community is nice (most English people think I’m Welsh because of my name and the border accent I somehow picked up). I have no time for hobbies, as I am too busy with vetting, farming, parish councillor work and bit of forestry!!

Director / Veterinary Surgeon

In April 2006 I came to Shropshire after I graduated from vet school in Utrecht. During my studies I was especially interested in large animals and art, and this is still the case. I started at Stapeley and have never left and became a partner in 2011. I enjoy being able to a part of keeping our client’s herds and flocks healthy and productive. I am a Mastitis Control Advisor and a Mobility Mentor Advisor and have been involved in the Scab Control Project in Shropshire.
Outside of work I live with my partner Neal and our sons Seth and Hugh, and our two dogs Fly and Seal. I enjoy pottery and have my own kiln in the garden, to keep in touch with my art interests. I also enjoy cycling and hiking the Shropshire hills.

Senior Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Bristol University in 2016 and came to Stapeley Vets as a new graduate, where I fell in love with farm animal vetting. After 2 years, I returned to the South West to work in a large farm animal practice in South Gloucestershire, where I became a dairy focused vet. In 2020 my partner and I made the journey to New Zealand, where we lived on the South Island just outside Christchurch for two years, farm vetting over there was a tad different, but a great experience, I learnt a hell of a lot and we saw the whole country and all the amazing scenery it holds. In 2022 we came back to the U.K and I started back doing some locum work for Stapeley and here I am now, full circle, back where I started. My main passion is dairy vetting, and I can’t help but love the spring and lambing season!!
When not in the wellies and waterproofs, my partner and I have just renovated our first home, I rock climb and am a member of the Shrewsbury climbing centre, I am a keen runner and enjoy hiking and, in the winter, I love being on a snowboard!!

Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating from vet school in London in 2022, I moved to Shropshire to begin my veterinary career. I have always been interested in farming – growing up in Pembrokeshire meant I was always surrounded by cows & sheep, and after five years in London I was ready to return to a more rural way of life.

I enjoy all aspects of my job as a farm vet and am starting a smallholders’ club to improve the services we offer to these clients.

Outside of work I enjoy exploring the Shropshire countryside with my labrador Damson, as well as learning to crochet, baking sourdough bread, going to the gym, and cycling whenever the weather is good enough (I refuse to go out when it’s raining, as I spend enough time outside in miserable weather at work!)

Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating I went straight into a mixed practice in the West Midlands working primarily with small animals with a sprinkle of farm and equine. After gaining experience in small animals, I realized I missed the outdoors and the fun that comes with large animal medicine, so I decided to take the leap and come to Shropshire.

In my spare time, I try to walk as much as possible, especially around the beautiful areas I’ve just moved to! I used to be a keen swimmer so I try and get in the pool as much as I can. After studying abroad, I got the travel bug so try to travel as much as work allows me to. I am currently trying to get to thirty countries before I’m thirty!

I am really enjoying my time at Stapeley and am happy to be part of the team, I look forward to teaching everyone some Brummie slang.

Administrator / Receptionist

I joined the Stapeley team in 2024, I was previously working in the dispensary of a doctor’s general practice for 20 years, so felt it was time for a change, and a new challenge!! I have a farming background from a child, and we (my husband and I), have a local farm of beef cattle, sheep, goats, and my daughter’s pony.

Administrator / Receptionist

I started working for Stapeley Vets in 2023 as part of the administration team. I am originally from Shropshire, with my family originally dairy farmers. Before Stapeley I worked for a mixed animal veterinary practice on the Welsh border as a vet nurse. I live with my husband and our two boys plus our 2 cats, 3 Guinea pigs and a gecko. When I’m not working you will see I’m a busy person, I like gardening, baking, making crafts out of wool and exploring new places UK and abroad. I like being part of my community where I live so that’s why I’m a community councillor and attend other parish committees.
